Fish can be so tricky, but this recipe is one even the most devout meat-eaters will love. It's so easy and although the ingredients seem difficult to find they are available at most grocery stores in the Asian section. The miso can be found refrigerated next to the tofu as it is simply fermented soy beans. Miso is the best source of soy protein. It is easy to digest as it is a prebiotic and contributes to good digestion.
serves 4
Ingredients:
4- 6 oz. filets of Black Cod
2 tbsp. brown sugar
3 tbsp. tamari (wheat free soy sauce)
1 1/2 tbsp. white miso
1 tbsp. mirin (rice wine)
3 tbsp. red onion, finely minced (or scallions)
cilantro for garnish
Method:
Preheat oven to broil. Rub fish generously with glaze mixture. Broil fish for about 5 minutes or until flesh starts to flake slightly. Enjoy with salty Sezchuan-style green beans and brown rice with avocado to counter the sweetness of the fish. Email me for the side recipes.
